Its aim is to promote the diffusion of films within three sections :
the "Ciné-Regards" screening section for adult and young audiences,
the
"Ecole et Cinéma I et II" sections
for schoolchildren from infant,
elementary
and secondary schools
and college students.
A wide range of films are shown every year :
classics of the cinema,
movies
which have stamped
on their time or which reflect
the distinctive features
of a country's
cinemato-
graphic landscape,
retrospectives, artistic events
either decentralized or
organized
by the film society itself.
An average of
20 films are shown
each season
within the three sections
mentioned above
and are attended
by about 20 000 people.
The screenings take place at :
- The Relais Culturel (Arts centre) in Wissembourg,
- Le Relais Culturel de la Saline (Saline Arts Centre) in Soultz-sous-Forêts
- The MAC in Bischwiller
The
Wissembourg Film Club also presents, in co-production with the Maison Rurale
de l'Outre Forêt, a programme of five films within the "Cinema and Rural
Society" section. The screenings -in video format- take place at : Maison
Rurale de l'Outre Forêt, 1 place de l'Eglise, Kutzenhausen.
The
Wissembourg Film Club is the cultural partner -approved by the D.R.A.C.
Alsace and the Ministry for the Arts and Communication- of the "Cinema and
Audiovisual" section of the Lycée Stanislas (Stanislas High School) in
Wissembourg.
